Anjulie’s “Into the Fire” Is A Last-Minute Contender For Song Of The Summer And It’s Amazing

We didn’t mean to alarm you, but pop singer Anjulie — who has bombastic pop jams like this one:

and written bombastic pop jams for artists like Lion Babe and Nicki Minaj — has teamed up with DJ act VINAI and singlehandedly thrown a last-minute contender into the pool for Song of the Summer. The song is called “Into the Fire” and is, to borrow a little parlance from the kids these days, a certifiable bop. Yes, yes, this has been out for, like, a month, but that doesn’t matter.

This is the kind of song that’s perfect for your gym mix, speeding down the highway with the windows down, or dancing in your chair at work while crunching away at Excel sheets.

Listen for yourself.

If there is a point to the music video, we’re still unsure what it is, as Anjulie doesn’t really make an appearance in the video. But that doesn’t stop the song from being a certified bop.

However, Anjulie’s also gone ahead and recorded a stripped-back, piano-only version. It’s equally wonderful. In another life, she probably could’ve chucked this version on the other side of this cassingle and called it a B-side, but that’s neither here nor there.
