Brooklyn Shanti Brings on Reggae-Pop With Summery ‘This Feeling’

Things you should know about Brooklyn Shanti (and also me):

• He was born in North Carolina, and currently resides in Brooklyn! (I lived in North Carolina for a year, in a suburb outside of Charlotte; I lived in Brooklyn for like five years!)

• He has been dubbed the Indian Bambataa! (I was dubbed the “Indian Bob Barker” earlier this week by my boss, at work.)

• His music comes strongly recommended by activist and all-around awesome chick Taz Ahmed. (I like to think she would recommend my work similarly, because after all, we are Facebook friends — the sacredest bond of ’em all!)

• He is a proud Bengali guy. (So am I!)

• Brooklyn Shanti claims to not to be so good at talking about himself. (I’m the opposite — I can go on and on about myself for hours.)

Below is the video for his latest single, “This Feeling” — which features Guyanese reggae artist Jahdan Blakkamoore. Hit the play button and groove out, y’all.
