Our Top 8 Potential Twist Endings for M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Wayward Pines’

Fox has greenlighted the M. Night Shyamalan-executive produced “Wayward Pines” for a 2014 debut. The event miniseries will star Matt Dillon (“Crash“), and is described as:

“…a mind-bending thriller in which nothing is what it seems, it centers on Secret Service agent Ethan Burke (Dillon) who arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions. “

Here’s hoping Night returns to his twist-ending roots and rewards viewers who stick around to the show’s conclusion for something no one saw coming. Still, here are my best guesses for what that twist ending might look like:

[dropcap]8.[/dropcap]  The whole show actually took place on an alien planet, except viewers didn’t realize it because no one knows what Idaho actually looks like.

[dropcap]7.[/dropcap]  Dillon’s Burke suspects a mole within the Secret Service and Jack Bauer comes out of retirement to find out who it is.

[dropcap]6.[/dropcap]  People are like, “Wait, why are there Secret Service and Federal Agents in Idaho anyway?” Everyone goes back to DC. The end.

Those needing an M. Night fix before 2014 don’t have to worry. His latest feature, “After Earth,” a post-apocalyptic film starring The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and his spawn, hits theaters Memorial Day weekend. You can watch the trailer below:
