Usher Recruits Priyanka Chopra for a Special Conversation on Hard II Love

There is apparently a new Usher album out and if you go to TIDAL, you can stream it; it honestly sounds like it might be worthwhile. Maura Johnston at Rolling Stone reports:

It’s a dense, lengthy album with dense layers and unexpected twists, with lyrics that are so plainspoken that at times they seem tossed-off (surely someone on his team could have intervened before he rhymed “phone calls” with “phones off” on the whirling “Make U a Believer”). The album’s persistent darkness, in keeping with current radio trends, overtakes even uptempo tracks like the Pharrell-produced tease “FWM.” But Usher – like any soul star worth his collection of Al Green albums – also knows that low-lit rooms are where a lot of the best action happens.

Okay but enough about people who are not Priyanka Chopra. How does Priyanka Chopra fit into everything? Wellllll:

That’s right. The best part of Hard II Love‘s opening track comes somewhere in the last few moments of the song, where Chopra intimately confesses, “Everybody wants somebody that’s got…confidence. He should make me feel safe, make me laugh, everything about him should feel sexy. His walk. His talk. He’s gotta be effortless, you know? Not trying too hard. What do you want in someone?” This collaboration probably explains this picture the two posed for sometime last month, too, shared via Chopra’s Instagram account:

She’s come a long, long way since “Exotic.”
