Google India released a moving new ad on Wednesday that both beautifully illustrated the pain of Partition and offered a sense of hope for the future. Titled “Google Search: Reunion,” the three and a half minute segment begins with an elderly man in Delhi reminiscing about his childhood in Lahore and regaling his granddaughter with stories about his old friend Yusef. Once she’s alone, the granddaughter promptly begins to search for the landmarks and places mentioned on Google… and you can probably guess what happens next.

Watch the ad below. (Turn the closed captioning option on for subtitles.)

(Also, how many people were wishing that the pair’s respective grandchildren would hit it off and live happily ever after? I can’t possibly have been the only one.)
