Just minutes after New York magazine revealed the cover for their annual Sex issue on Sunday, the @NYMag account began receiving criticism for the lack of diversity pictured. It is somewhat extraordinary that in 2013 a publication, particularly one that takes its name from one of the most diverse cities on Earth, still needs to be reminded that non-Caucasian people exist. I don't know if @NYMag has editors of color who could've weighed in on that all-white #SexIssue cover. But it sure shows why we need more.

There is some tonal range in @NYMag #SexIssue cover, white to dark white.
