Did Questlove and Padma Lakshmi make “racist” comments?  Mediaite reports that gossip blog Oh No They Didn’t called out Roots musician Questlove and Top Chef host and model Padma Lakshmi for “racist” Asian jokes against Japanese people. Their jokes reference the stereotypical interchanging of “L” and “R” consonant sounds. Questlove’s manager Dawn Englehart, apparently of Asian descent herself, reportedly wrote that Padma Lakshmi and her “get a yellow pass anyway.” [Mediaite, ONTD]

Imran Khan vs. Homophobia. In the aftermath of the Supreme Court of India’s ruling re-criminalizing of gay sex under Section 377,  All India Bakchod — the comedy podcast group who brought you “It’s Your Fault,” a parody video of India’s rape culture — has released a video in which actor Imran Khan addresses “some common desi questions about homosexuality.” The satirical piece has him take questions like “how do gay people have coffee?” and reply with a heavy dose of sarcasm. Cumberbitches be happy. Sherlock returns for a third season on PBS next month after a second season finale in which consulting detective Sherlock Holmes played by actor Benedict Cumberbatch faked his suicide in London. Cumberbatch fans (aka Cumberbitches) are anticipating the series’ return, and the series has a mini-episode online now in advance of the season premiere. In it, Detective Anderson (Jonathan Aris) tries to convince Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves) that the detective isn’t dead after all, pointing to two other solved cases — including one in New Delhi involving ice cream — that suggest Sherlock is still alive.
