Over the last two years, Neelanjana Banerjee has been editing The Aerogram Book Club, where she brings engaged readers, writers, and scholars together to discuss South Asian books. The books have run the gamut from Akhil Sharma’s acclaimed Family Life to Jabeen Akhtar’s irreverent Welcome to Americastan.
Now, we want you to become a part of the conversation.
The next Book Club will feature Janice Pariat‘s Seahorse. Described as “a sweeping tale of love, nostalgia, and memory, moving through 1990s New Delhi and present-day London, Seahorse tracks one man’s undying love for his former professor across time and place.” Originally published in India, Seahorse was recently published by Los Angeles-based Unnamed Press.
The Book Club discussion on Seahorse — between Banerjee and writer Monona Wali — will be published on Monday March 28. Use this link to buy a discounted copy of the book, read it and join in the conversation by commenting on the site and using #Aerogram on social media! Plus, we’ll invite Janice Pariat to do a live chat conversation with readers at some point after the Book Club.
