Anil Dash’s Birthday Wish: All tech entrepreneur (and friend of The Aerogram) Anil Dash wants for his birthday is to bring clean water to the villages of Orissa. Dash, who turns 38 on Sept. 5, hopes to raise $20,000 for charity:water by the end of the year. “My motivation in bringing water to villages in the rural regions of Orissa, India are simple,” writes Dash. “These are my people. This is my family, these are boys and girls just like me.” (Anil Dash)

The Encyclopedia of Hinduism has arrived: The University hindu-encyclopediaof South Carolina will unveil its new Encyclopedia of Hinduism later today. It took experts 25 years to produce the 11-volume guide, which includes roughly 7,000 entries and more than 1,000 illustrations. Social activist Anna Hazare will be among the dignitaries attending the unveiling ceremony. (Associated Press, University of South Carolina)
