Comediennes Tess Paras, Haneefah Wood, and Ayana Hampton lead a solid crew in this brilliantly sharp critique of Hollywood’s typecasting tendencies. Using Lorde’s “Royals,” they call out the fact that here we are, in 2014, and people of color continue to get the sidekick treatment on a lot of TV series (sadly, not every show is The Mindy Project!) There’s even a blink-and-you-miss-it send-up of the cringe-worthy orientalist depiction of South Asians that uneducated Hollywood types resort to. Watch the whole video below.
