Mindy Kaling’s interest in the macabre is well known to anyone who has read her book or watched her talk show appearances. In this new video interview with Vanity Fair, The Mindy Project star talks in depth about why she is particularly fascinated with serial killers and even quotes a manifesto by a man who was arrested fairly recently. (She also calls Jack the Ripper “Probably the most cinematic of the serial killers.”)
“I could have consulted on Dexter,” she said. “I would have been an invaluable resource in that writers room.”
But even Kaling has her limits.
“I’d never look up crime scene photos,” she notes. “I draw the line there.”
