A Round-Up of Ramadan Round-Ups That You Need to See

Mixing humor with information and scripture, Ibrahim Rahman, 23, created a web series called Ramadan Roundups. Shared on YouTube from 2011 through earlier this month when Roundup 4 was released, the videos discuss topics such as fasting, prayer, family and charity. Among the personal experiences of Ramadan he mentions are the “Top 5 Questions” people asked him while he observed Ramadan at school in the UK. Each video also contains an update at the end about an ongoing project to build a mosque in Cambridge.

Rahman is serious about his roundups, so naturally Ramadan Roundup 4 was preceded by movie posters. Check out the videos in the series below, and follow Ramadan Roundup on Twitter for more.

Ramadan Roundup 1

Ramadan Roundup 2

This roundup was filmed in 2012 months after Ramadan because Rahman had “a lot on his plate.” He notes that the observance that year coincided with the London Olympics. Don’t miss the Top 5 Questions Ibrahim was asked when he was fasting at school.

Ramadan Roundup 3

Watch this roundup for a demonstration of various wrong and right ways to fast. (Hint: Hogging all the dates in preparation for breaking the fast is not one of the right ways.)

Bonus: Ramadan Roundup Highlights

For those who can’t get enough, yes there is a highlights video. It includes Rahman’s phone call with Prime Minister David Cameron.

Ramadan Roundup 4

This roundup features a short and funny Master Chef-themed sequence called Faster Chef. Rahman also interviews Muslims who share what they eat when they break their fast and their thoughts on observing Ramadan.
