Nina Davuluri may have only made history recently with her slick Bollywood-inspired dance performance, but she’s actually been wowing audiences with her steps since her days as a University of Michigan undergraduate. From a tipster who was part of the college’s Maya Dance Team with Nina comes the below sequence. Nina’s solo segment can be seen at 1:30 into the video, where she’s performing to “Beedi” from the 2006 film Omkara. It seems Nina’s had loyal fans from her earliest days, as you can hear the audience call her name at 1:25. Says our tipster, “We were so happy to see someone we knew well win!”
